ATTENTION RDF PROCESSORS: THE IDEAL MACHINE
Lyndex Recycling Systems have recently supplied a new twin ram baler to Peak Waste in Ashbourne. In co-operation with Gordian Strapping the baler uses Gordian’s OMS TR19HT Plastic Strapping Head. Peak Waste, Derbyshire’s largest privately owned waste management company, began over 30 years ago, a family run business always aiming to offer an excellent service, for a number of years, they approached Lyndex to provide them with a machine that would increase their throughput and give them the facility to tie the bales with plastic strapping. Using the proven Ram II design, Lyndex have developed the ideal high performance heavy duty baling press for processing RDF efficiently. The new Lyndex Ram II LT1222 Twin Ram Baler can strap bales of Refuse Derived Fuel at a rate of 25 tonnes/hour. Although the baler was specially designed for RDF, it can also process fibres, plastics, non-ferrous, tyres and MSW making it a versatile and efficient machine. The baler can also be supplied with steel wiring or BOTH. Currently, most RDF baled waste is tied using steel wire. Plastic strap is around 30% cheaper and is also combustible. Due to this it does not attract the €3-5/bale premium that some EFW plants charge for processing steel wire bales. The Gordian OMS TR19HT Strapping Head, which is proven in the toughest working environments is designed for use with PET, the head is specially designed to provide protection from debris ingression and easy maintenance.
